"It's even better than winning the Cup [in 2008]. The Cup you can win with some lucky draws. You all know that if you can get some nice draws, three or four wins and you are there. But I think this a better achievement."
- Harry Redknapp
Hopefully everyone will leave Wenger alone now?

That tells you all you need to know about the ambition of Spurs
Let ‘em be happy with fourth place. I wouldn’t be.
Yeah.
What a twisted place we live in where getting fourth is more important than winning a cup that involves about 200 teams from across Britain. I mean, I think the Premier League is as true a test of quality as anything, but surely winning the FA Cup was a big deal?
Right, but
Arsène doesn’t probably think getting 4th is better than winning it. Well, maybe he does. Point is, I expect to see every single UK journo ripping into ’Arry for saying this, since they would not shut up when we lost to Stoke with a weakened team in the FA Cup this year.
Meh
I really don’t see either of the cups as that big a deal. I’d rather see my team compete for a league title and focus on doing well in euporpean competition than win the FA or Carling cups (I actually wish they’d just get rid of the Carling Cup to lighten up the fixture list).

If I had to rank them in order of what I wish Wenger would focus on
1. League
2. FA Cup
3. Champions League
4. League Cup or Carling Cup or Coca-Cola Cup or whatever they’re calling it now
But then I also have thought for a while now that it would be cool if the League Cup were only open to non-Premiership teams, and the reward for winning the League Cup should be one of England’s Europa League places. The big boys have enough to fight over, why not let the rest of the divisions have the League Cup?

The League Cup does get you a Europa League place
but when the winner is already in Europe, it goes to the next highest placed team in the Premiership

Ah, good to know
I’d still like to see the League Cup only open to non-Premiership teams, though. I like the idea of a competition that is realistically winnable by a non-Premiership team; let the lower-division teams have something to shoot for rather than just a hope for a cash-rich late round tie at a Premiership ground.

No, because 'Arry is english
also anyone who reckons they’ll get third is having a laugh

Well there's no doubt
That if Wenger said it Henry Winter would devote 37 columns to him disrespecting the game.
I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I agree with Harry, getting 4th place means a chance to qualify for the Champions league, and is a league position Tottenham hasn’t achieved in quite a while by my reckoning. Maybe for Arsenal it wouldn’t be a big deal, but its not the same situation for them. Certainly sounds bigger than the FA Cup final to me.
