Arsenal World Cup Open Thread for Wednesday, June 16
Ok, so Honduras v. Chile probably will not get many out of bed. But then, at 10 AM EDT: Spain. Switzerland. Cesc Fábregas, hopefully. European Champions.

i'm sad that I didn't wake up for the start of Chile/Honduras
Caught it starting at the 70th minute and I have to say Chile could be a surprise team. They are displaying the sharpest passing and killer instinct I’ve seen besides Germany.
Totally agree.
I watched at least part of every first round match. Chile and South Korea were the most exciting dark horses by far. Germany and Argentina were the only giants that looked like they were playing to win for 90 minutes.

Cesc didn’t play because they needed more width, although I thought Cesc would’ve been a better option than Pedro.
Happy about the upset, feel bad for Senderos going off with an injury
putting cesc in
Would definitely have forced them to play more through the middle; it’s a shame they can’t just import Dani Alves to Spain.
It's incredible that Alves is on the bench for Brazil
But not sure why Spain need him when they have Ramos as the right-back. The only weakness they have is maybe at left-back. Evra would be a perfect player for them, or even C$shley Cole.
