Around SBN: An Explanation For Some Of The Perplexing HOF Snubs

Jack Wilshere was arrested along with 3 other men for being involved in a violent incident that left a woman with a broken arm and a man with facial injuries. First reports are saying Wilshere was playing the role of a peacemaker and is going to be considered a witness.

I really hope this doesn't turn out like the Ray Lewis incident.

Would be a true shame to have a player like Jack end up convicted or worse be involved in a cover up. Here’s hoping he really was just a peacemaker.

He's been released

and is a key witness. Nothing serious, and he’s not expected to be charged

I wonder why they used the word 'Arrested',

since if he’s being asked to be a witness, detained or brought in for questioning would seem more accurate. Did they have to lead Wilshere off in cuffs?

This.

Well the article also said he was "released on bail"

I don’t understand why he had to pay bail if he wasn’t considered an instigator. This article confuses the heck out of me.

Too true.

From the wording in the article, I guess we’ll have to think that Wilshere was forcibly detained, was led away in cuffs and therefore had to post bail for himself (since he had to be forcibly detained).

To me the only reason why I think he may have resisted the police would be if he refused to rat out one of his friends to them — therefore was uncooperative at the scene.

This.

If there was a fracas

the police may have arrested everyone involved, no questions asked. It’s what usually happens in this case.
