So rumblings on the interwebs:
1. RVP won’t be playing in the Germany friendly. Can anyone confirm this?
2. ESPNSoccernet just confirmed Van Der Vaart injured his hamstring. LOL ’arry.
according to Google translate the first paragraph reads
Arsenal striker flies home Friday after the match against Switzerland to London, where he will enjoy a few days rest.

At least Koscielny didn't play too badly
Minus the PK no call and all that.
I don’t want to see him doing that regardless of whether it was a correct call or not. Unless it’s Tottenham or Stoke or Chelsea someone like that and he gets away with it.

England just beat Spain
Mostly on luck, Spain dominated in most phases of the game. England did defend well but they pretty much parked the bus in front of goal.
Luck? Yeah right.
Up until the 75 minute mark England had the better chances. (Then Capello went into his Italian turtle shell with Barry and Rodwell) Scott Parker, Lescott, and Jagielka were all excellent. Bent came as close as any Spanish player to scoring (in addition to the slow shot Lampard headed in) when he missed the post.
Well, I guess England doesn't really need Rooney any more.
All the better, I say. Who needs that angry striker in International football, anyway? Just leave behind at Old Trafford where he can wait for his eventual transfer to Real Madrid.
Rooney is still a lot better than Bent or Welbeck or Carroll or whatever other scrub they play.
He’s a prick but he’s got talent.
Yeah I call getting that kind bounce off the post to an unmarked Lampard luck
Spain had the lion’s share(forgive the pun) of possession and had like 10 times the amount of shots than England had. I can hardly remember the shots England had there were so few. Reminded me of our matches against Bolton or Blackburn from a couple years ago really. One side had all the possession, the other parked the bus and soaked up pressure and countered when they could.
Spain and England both had 2 shots on target
I think Hart had one save to make.
Maybe a draw was a fair result, but for all that possession, Spain created nothing.

Spain looked brutal when I watched the replay
I mean, England sat back a lot and defended well, but for all the talent Spain has up front, which is probably twice as good as anyone else’s frontfield right now, they did absolutely nothing…

Yeah
I mean, they didn’t do a damn thing with the ball. Having it is great but if you can’t get a shot off, there isn’t a lot of reason to do it.

France-USa
not a good game. Koscielny didn’t play that great, Dempsey and Altidore were the only players doing anything of note in the white shirts. This Wednesday game on FSC has been pretty good.

It played out like it usually has with Klinsmann so far
The U.S. lacked creativity all game, I don’t know whether it’s because its an adjustment to a new playing style or what, but as usual we didn’t get going until late and already a goal down. Overall though it wasn’t a horribly bad game though, but it wasn’t good either. Chances need to be made during the whole game, not the last twenty minutes. The defense looked solid though and kept them in it considering how deadly Ribery and Benzema were

It's because 1)Klinsmann is shit and 2)We're not as good as France.

Yeah.
Forgive me for not having an aneurysm after six games. Though I guess Capello has to deal with this too, so maybe it just means we’re finally becoming a footballing nation. Hooray?

Guys, I was against Klinsmann before he was appointed.
This is not a knee-jerk reaction. This is Ben being vindicated.

Klinsmann isn't total shit
Would you rather have Bradley? At least we’re not losing to Mexico 4-2 AFTER having a two goal lead…

“Why is
Would you rather have Bradley?”
being used as a threat! Come on people, he was the coach over arguably the US’s most successful 4 years. This isn’t fair, on him, on the team, nor on Klinsmann.

In case you haven't noticed, the current Mexican side is kinda amazing.
Shit happens. Overall, Bradley did fine. If you replace him, replace him with someone better, or at least someone who has a proven record of success. That means more than a single good run in a cup competition. The collective amnesia about his shit year at FC Bayern is funny to me.

the klinsmann era will be a painful one.
but it will prove to be a needed one. Hopefully the style hes trying to mold the team into will permeate to all levels of the game in the U.S… It should bring forth generation after generation of improvement until they finally have the players to compete at the top level of international soccer (I think that’s atleast 25 years down the road or so.) Right now the reality is that they just don’t have the players to do so – no matter the style or tactics.
The most important thing is that the nation falls in love with the game. We need kids playing in the streets, parks and fields of America. If that happens anything is possible in the future.
This team will be the death of me.

You're talking about one game.
I’m talking about his body of work. You can keep kow-towing to him because he’s European, but he is not a good manager.
I don’t care if the USSF wants a foreign manager or an American, but it has to be the right person.

I can’t tell whether you’re being facetious or not but I think he does know what he’s doing. Maybe I can understand where you’re coming from if you wanna talk about his time at Bayern. But do not forget what he did with a very young German team who not many expected to succeed at the ‘06WC. This is a guy who’s looking past the team he has now in his decision making process. He is trying to do something to advance the USMNT years down the road from now.
Sure, he could maximize the squad he has now by adjusting tactics to the strengths of these current players, but what’s that gonna matter? They couldn’t even win the Gold Cup in that kind of system. I know the confederation’s cup got everyone excited but lets take that as what it actually was: a gross over-achievement.
This team will be the death of me.
I'm not being facetious.
Did you see what he did at Bayern? It was shit. He took a team that had run away with the league the year before (and won a double) and won nothing with them. Bayern conceded twice as many goals under Klinsmann, and needed Jupp Heynckes to swoop in for the last five matches and save a Champions League spot.
As for Germany, we’ve seen over the past four years that Klinsmann hardly had a magic touch. He was blessed with extremely good players from the German club academy system (which he had no role in developing), as well as home advantage. Löw’s success since 2006 shows that the players were good enough, they just needed a good system — which Löw, not Klinsmann, provided (read the extracts from Philipp Lahm’s book if you don’t believe me).
