Emergency goalkeepers are, as one might imagine, kind of hard to come by, at least in the ranks of active players. But retired players? Maybe a bit easier. Arsenal are in slightly dire straits with their goalkeeping situation right now, not that Manuel Almunia has been bad, but that the team is essentially looking at 19-year old, James Shea, as his replacement should anything happen.

Now, Jens Lehmann is 41 years old. He hasn't played since 2010 (for Stuttgart, not exactly slouches), so he'll probably be a bit rusty, should he decide to join the club.
Should this move go through, it'll be just like 2006 all over again! Thoughts?
The 41-year-old was already due to spend six weeks at the club's London Colney training complex on a coaching course, but will now prolong his playing career and provide cover for the Spaniard if he can prove his fitness...
