Arsenal link roundup for Sunday, March 20
Good afternoon, everyone. Strikes and gutters yesterday, but today's a new day. And it's raining here in Chicago.
First of all, if you haven't already done so, read Beltrans' tactical analysis from yesterday's match.
Secondly, I'd like to apologize for my instant-reaction negativity on twitter during the match yesterday.
Then, here are some more links:

Article on Goal.com about a Cesc transfer to Barcelona
Just as ridiculous as any other. No sources other than someone “close to the Gunners’ board” which arguably describes everyone who lives in southern England. And how does accusing us of ‘immorally’ signing one of their prospects an example of “building bridges with Arsenal officials”?
Captain, there are doubt's...
"It’s a good opportunity to show we have the strength to respond" - Arsene Wenger, 2011
Goal.com is not a worthy news source
they’re horrible. As are the eleventy billion Cesc-to-Barca rumors. I’d love it if we could all just ignore them until it actually happens.
This
Goal.com never bothers to use quotes from an actual source, most of their garbage is just drummed up for page hits. While I’m of the opinion that a move will likely happen this summer, I can’t really believe that either team and especially not the player are too focused on it at this phase of the season.

And now according to the Guardian Lehmann will probably get the start after the stupid international break
Of all the possible storylines of this season back in August, if anybody had “Jens Lehmann will be starting in goal for Arsenal’s first team in April”, I want to take you to Vegas and give you all my money to gamble as you see fit.
Are you not entertained?
Is this not why you are here?
As frustratingly patient as he’s been with keepers in the past, I really can’t see Wenger replacing Almunia based on that howler alone. Arsenal fandom aside, though, wouldn’t you tune in to see the freak show if Lehmann did start in goal?
THAT'S RIGHT, Kenny Wheaton you did. You cut back into GREATNESS.

hah. Matrix Reloaded style, starring Arsene Wenger as "The Architect"
SBN Bloglist:
The Short Fuse (Arsenal, EPL)
Sactown Royalty (Kings, NBA)
I don't know that you could blame it on a single howler at this point
He’s never really been all that good, there’s a reason he dropped behind both Flappy and a U21 on the depth chart. Lehman on the other hand was pretty solid last year for Stuttgart, if he’s even shown that type of form again he’s probably the better keeper.

I agree, he isn't all that good.
To clarify I should have said, why this howler and not the seventeen million others he’s made the past three seasons? Lehmann seems like a complete question mark to me, I don’t know that he’[s predictably going to be better than Almunia.
Although, Almunia-less, we’d have lost to Barca by eight goals or so.

I really think Lehman will be just fine
He was good for Stuttgart last year, and there was plenty of interest in him on a Bosman last summer if he hadn’t wanted to hang them up. I doubt he’d be playing for anyone other than Arsenal, as he reportedly turned down a pretty good sized deal from Red Bull NY. Unless his skills have seriously eroded in the last 10 months, he’s still good enough to make any team in the Premier league with the possible exception of City. It’s not like the guy hasn’t played in a few years, he held his own against Champions League competition just last year.

And he knows what to do when the ball is out of the area
Squeezed to Song and Bendtner and Song and Nasri oh lovely lovely lovely!
-Peter Drury, the one time his commentating has ever been acceptable.

I always thought that this guy would fit right in at Arsenal

Nah, England is the more likely place for him
He can join Peter Bonetti and Rob Green.
Before this lot of keepers, we actually had some brilliant ones. Except for Richard Wright.
