Former Arsenal shareholder Danny Fiszman has died today, aged 66.  After buying 8% of the club in 1999 from David Dein, Mr. Fiszman was a leader of the charge to build Arsenal a new stadium and at one point the largest shareholder at the club.

Mr. Fiszman led the team that put together the proposal which resulted in Ashburton Grove, and for that alone, his place in the club's history will be assured, but Fiszman was also well-regarded by everybody who worked with him and a true supporter.  His legacy will live on in the long-term philosophy of the club as well as the world-class facilities that Arsenal call home.  He sold his remaining shares to Stan Kroenke's KSE on Monday.

"We are all deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Danny. His voice, wisdom and presence around the football club he so dearly loved will be sorely missed."

The Arsenal community has lost an important figure, an influential voice, and a true Gooner.  Rest in peace, Mr. Fiszman.
