Arsenal link roundup for Sunday, September 18
Hey, did you know that "Drunk Loin Up" is an anagram of "link roundup"? No?
It's true!
Anyway, for those of you awake and feeling fresh after yesterday's bad trip, here are some links about the Arsenal from today's internet:
Arsène Wenger feels the heat after Arsenal ship four at Blackburn [Observer]
Wenger - We need to find defensive confidence [Arsenal.com] (stating the obvious, there)
Arsène Wenger accepts Arsenal have made 'terrible' start [ESPN] (again, um, yep!)
Blackburn 4 - 3 Arsenal: a game of two halves [Arseblog]
Blackburn Review: Arsenal defeat sums season up [A Cultured Left Foot]
Lost in Space [Run of Play] (an interesting take on defensive frailty yesterday)
Wenger deserves a place at the top table - and so does Arsenal for that matter [Observer Business section]
(ah yes, I can see it now: EUROPEAN ECONOMY GETS OFF TO STRONG START, FAILS AFTER BELGIUM INEXPLICABLY SELLS ALL ITS CROPS FOR TWO CENTS PER METRIC TON.
WENGER: I...euh...well, you know, Belgium has always made a good start, and it was maybe a bit unlucky with its price controls, but it is young, and we believe it is top, top quality, but these things can happen to a nation when it is little bit short of confidence.)
(I kid. The world seriously could take a lesson or two from how Wenger does business, for real).
That's all I got for you lovely people today. Our Shrewsbury coverage starts soon, which just means I start watching old DVDs of the Mystery! Brother Cadfael series starring Derek Jacoby...
...have a good day, everyone.

I'm an I, Claudius man myself.
Captain, there are doubt's...
"It’s a good opportunity to show we have the strength to respond"
"C'est pourquoi quand je vais en enfer, un jour, il sera moins douloureux pour moi que vous, parce que je suis habitué à la souffrance."
- Arsene Wenger, 2011
I enjoyed the short Observer Business article
It makes such a decent point, because football today is being run like how America was running just a few years ago. These teams are overspending on players, taking out loans for transfer fees, and how many of these teams exactly make a profit and are going to be able to pay these loans off? Eventually, these banks are going to start losing money because they’re not getting paid in full, and they’re going to have to get it from somewhere, the teams are going to be the big cash cows to hit, instead of the people. Unfortunately, your going to have teams like City and Chelsea, who’s owners have enough money to bail them out if they need to, but that’s what the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules are for, to make teams pay for a majority of their expenses with their profits, it’s more of a question really though on how strict UEFA will be with this though (especially with Barca, UEFA’s bitch lover…)
F.F.F.
"Do you think we need one more...? You think we need one more... Alright we'll get one more"
If we keep our nose to the grindstone and keep working hard in training
I think this squad might be strong enough to get by Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup…
