Fusillade, Episode 4: Winning and Sagna Are Bac, but Jack has a setback

"You scored!"
"I know, time for the table tennis celebration!"

So, as you should know by now, Arsenal had a great comeback to win 3-2 today. But you know what will make your day even better? That's right, the 4th episode of Fusillade. No, I'm not apologising for the title.

This week, both Thomas and Paul were awol, so I host the show, and I'm joined by Ted. No, this is most certainly not a coup d'etat. We talk about Arsenal's victory today, Jack Wilshere's injury, what Arsenal's ambitions should be this season and then have an extremely brief preview of Arsenal's matches this week.

If there's any difference in sound quality, it is solely down to me using GarageBand instead of the Windows program that Thomas uses.

Regular podcast service should resume next week, as Thomas and Paul should return from being tied to chairs while I and Ted run amok with the podcast on well deserved vacations.

iTunes update: We shall be applying to iTunes soon, given that we now have 5 episodes. Until then, Fusillade shall be on Podomatic.

Oh, good, I got in

Thanks for butchering my name. It made me smile. Next time, just go with my last name, you almost got that. (softer a) And yes, I’m a guy
(seriously, don’t apologize)

Adnan is a great name

One of my best friends from college has that name. For the fusillade guys, it’s pronounced uhd-naan (right, Adnan?).

Well I'm impressed. I mean, I've met a grand total of 1 other person named Adnan

All the other “Adnan’s” I’ve heard of are famous. There is a singer. There’s a couple writers. One’s a cricketeer, and I believe there is/was one who played for the Turkish National Soccer Team.

I think part of the motivation to name him Adnan was that his twin brother’s name is Rehan. It’s not a popular name as mine (Hamed), but I’ve met quite a few Adnans (all of them mostly from college though, haha).

Um, there's a dozen names that rhyme with Rehan

Mine, my dad’s, my brothers, one of my cousins, two friends, etc. No names repeating. Adnan is actually a rather rare name, even outside the US.

Glad you highlighted this stretch of AC MIlan, Liverpool, Newcastle and the yids we have staring us in the face. It will define our season. I hope we can carry the energy and good feeling from today Thru Bolton, Blackburn and Sunderland and sieze control of our destiny.

This team will be the death of me.

Hey Ted, on the topic of whether we really played differently in the second half

I felt that like Aidan said, the team visibly picked up the tempo of the game, and suddenly Villa was very uncomfortable. The ball was moving faster and people like Rosicky were making driving runs at the defence and forcing their defensive shape to change. This was in stark contrast to the first half when the offense seemed short on ideas and didn’t quite move fast enough (with the exception of the Ox who is the Energizer Bunny), and the villa defense handled through balls and long air passes very well.

It made players tired (Rosicky came off at 70’ after running villa ragged) but it was really fun to see the team play with some fire, haven’t seen it in a while. And it won us the game. Encore please!
