I was out yesterday at an all-day seminar, which actually proved to be much more interesting and engaging than I'm used to. Coming from a predominantly corporate background, seminars are generally boring, typically only tangentially related to my work, and something mostly to be avoided or slept through, but yesterday's, which was for public employees, was really quite interesting, and everyone in attendance was really engaged in trying to relate the seminar topics to their daily work, which was nice.

Anyway, a consequence of me being at a convention hall all day was that I wasn't really able to follow much of what happened yesterday, whether that be news, sports, whatever. I knew Arsenal were playing at 12.45, so I checked in at about the 40 minute mark. I saw the score, 4-0 to Reading, and I thought "well, that's that then, one less thing to worry about today".

During my next break, about a half hour later, I checked in again, and holy crap it was 5-4 Arsenal! WHAT THE BALLS? Then, I kept watching the Guardian's minute-by-minute surreptitiously under the desk every few minutes until the final whistle and 7-5. In-freaking-sane. I can only imagine what it must have been like to actually watch. And shame on those of you who were there and left at half time.

Today's question is simple, then. In whatever sport, involving whatever your favorite team is, is there a game that you missed because life got in the way that you still sorta kick yourself for missing? Even though there was nothing really at stake here, I'm really bummed that I missed this game because it sounded amazing, in a clownshoes sorta way.

What else is going on this week? Anybody using Windows 8 yet? Is it any good? Had any good beers lately?
