Fusillade, Episode 5: Better Late Than Never
It's here, it's finally here! The 5th episode of Fusillade, and the first one after a league win, covers Arsenal's thrashing of Blackburn, discusses Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Tomas Rosicky, and previews the league match against Sunderland.
First of all, we apologize for the lateness of the episode; because of work/school obligations, and because all 4 of us live in 3 different time zones, it was difficult finding a time to suit everyone, which we eventually did. Secondly, apologies for the quality of the sound, and the heavy breathing (which I think is me, coming down with a cold). As we were getting into the podcast, disaster struck on Skype, forcing us to make some adjustments which may have turned out to be wrong, affecting the sound quality of everyone but me. The sound quality is not up to our usual standards, but it is listenable, and it will be returned to it's usual quality for the next episode.
You can listen or download from Podomatic, or listen right from this very page.

When we were recording this
My wife came home from work, and was standing in the door of the office listening to us record for a bit. I finished up and went downstairs and the first thing she said to me was “Who is that guy that sounds exactly like Adam Scott?”
please tell me she was talking about me

by the way, on the topic of sunderland and how good they are,
I believe that in a points table since december they are the #1 team in the EPL.

Playing who?
Sunderland 1-0 Manchester City
Wigan Athletic 1-4 Sunderland
Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland
Sunderland 2-0 Swansea City
Sunderland 3-0 Norwich City
Stoke City 0-1 Sunderland
Outside the shock win against Man City, their games have come out as expected in Januray.
So, apparently I can now be followed.. but no stalking. @alsonamedphil
There's some decent comp in those games though
A win against City is massive, and wins against Swansea and Norwich are pretty decent considering they shut them out and score 2+ goals, Norwich has been surprisingly well this year

Dude a 4-1 away win? Away victory to stoke? 3 comprehensive home shutouts?
yeah. That’s a good team.

Yep
Any team that holds Man City to no goals should be looked at closer.

Hey guys I'm a broadcasting major at the University of Nebraska...
…and I would love to be a part of your podcasts. I love Arsenal. I have broadcasting experience and it would be something fun for me to do on the side. I have Skype, a head set and all the fixings. Let me know if you would like an extra guy on your show! I would definitely enjoy being on the podcast with you guys!

psssht
This is the current top of the line Trek that their TDF riders use. Not even my dream bike, but I wouldn’t turn it down if it came my way.
lol i tried
i don’t know too much about bikes…Arsenal season tickets seem more worth it to me

I live 4900 miles from London and therefore season tickets are of no use to me
but I use bikes every day!
lol true...I live afar too
but I would definitely go to games if I was close to London

TREK IS SO MAINSTREAM.
You should get a Cervélo. Not mainstream at all.

I am not the owner of the blog and as such can't make a unilateral decision
Lemme check with the boss and the other authors, and someone will get back to you (do you have an email address in your SBNation profile?).
it's on there now
thanks in advance

Let me give you some advice
You’re behind the barrel on two fronts. The good news is that they’re easily correctable. One, you go to UNL, and two, you’re a broadcasting major. I’ll fill in the details….
I have a cousin who was a broadcasting major. Voice like Scully, hair like Sajek. Impeccable young man, he was. He grew up taking a recorder and doing his own broadcasts to sporting events on TV. He was determined to make his dreams come true. He went to school to take these steps towards his life goals. The kid latched on to the local amateur baseball team and he spent four summers getting the practice and resume-stuffing needed to make it in the business. After attending a conference, he connected with the right people and got himself a gig! A real job talking sports on the radio!
Then…tragedy struck! The team he worked for laid the entire staff off because they were facing bankruptcy. He was jobless. He was far from his small hometown, far from the familiar faces he could always turn to for advice. His girlfriend left him (because talking nice with a non-regional dialect doesn’t pay for a nice dinner out) and he was facing eviction from his basement apartment. Archie Griffin once said “In the face of adversity, you find out if you’re a fighter or a quitter. It’s all about getting up after you’ve been knocked down.”
So instead of being homeless, he started providing dudes sexual favors in discreet alleyways for cash, before becoming an ad salesperson. I guess what I’m saying is, well, I’m not sure.

ummm sorry to hear about that
Though if there isn’t a place for me talk about the beautiful game in the states then I will probably go overseas. I did an internship in Ghana last summer and got to appear on TV a couple times talking about the Gold Cup and Women’s World Cup. I wouldn’t mind going back there. Anyways…you are an Arsenal fan so I respect you a lot for that even though we might disagree in other sports.

I'm just fucking with you, dude
Go Hawks!
