So, it has come to pass: Theo Walcott has been given a rest. Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will flank Robin van Persie up front for Arsenal today at the Stadium of Light, while Francis Coquelin has been deputized at left back in place of Kieran Gibbs:
Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Coquelin, Arteta, Song, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Van Persie.
Subs: Rosicky, Szczesny, Walcott, Squillaci, Arshavin, Chamakh, Benayoun.
Sunderland, meanwhile, will force the following eleven men to play a match of football today:
Sunderland: Mignolet; Bardsley, Turner, O'Shea, Richardson; Larsson, Colback, Cattermole, Gardner, McClean; Sessegnon.
Frazier Campbell is not in the starting lineup, but Sebastian Larsson will feature back out wide for Sunderland, where his crossing could very well pose an issue.
