Mikel Arteta is likely to not only miss the Chelsea match with an ankle injury, but judging by Arsene Wenger's words post-match today at the Emirates, he might miss the rest of the season:

It is an ankle problem. It looks quite a serious one. We have to scan it tomorrow, it is too early to say tonight. But it doesn't look a little ankle sprain. It is a serious one.

This is a serious, serious problem. This does not bode well for an Arsenal squad trying to hold off Tottenham, Newcastle, and Chelsea for a spot in the Champions League next year. This does not bode well for a squad who replace Arteta with Aaron Ramsey, a different kind of player, a player who is still very young, a player who doesn't move the ball particularly quickly yet, and a player who still thinks that backheels are fun or a good idea.

And mostly it just really, really sucks for Arteta, who's probably one of the most likeable players in the league.

WARNING: IMMEDIATE, IRRATIONAL THOUGHTS AHEAD: I am just so sad/mad right now. It's hard to watch this team losing to bottom of the table teams when they have a goal in sight.
