Stuart Pearce, coach of the men's football squad for the 2012 London games, has determined his final 18-man squad today, and one Arsenal player made the cut. Aaron Ramsey joins the team in midfield, where he has a good chance to start alongside fellow Premier League young talents Scott Sinclair, Tom Cleverley, and Joe Allen.
There had been speculation that Kieran Gibbs would join Ramsey in the squad as well, but Pearce elected not to bring the young Englishman. It will probably be good for Gibbs to have a full preseason under his belt, and one could possibly say the same about Ramsey, as he was looking very fatigued towards the end of last season. Were it up to us here at The Short Fuse, none of our players would go anywhere near Stuart Pearce for fear of some sort of horrible injury happening, but fingers crossed.
Congratulations to Mr. Ramsey; make us proud.
