LOAN WATCH: Benik Afobe scores hat-trick for Bolton

Stay connected for news and updates

Afobe was loaned to Reading last year and had no hat-tricks

In his second game for Bolton Wanderers, Arsenal loanee Benik Afobe has scored a hat-trick to open his account (though since it's just a friendly against Tranmere, whether you think that counts or not is up to you to decide).

According to the Bolton official Twitter account's livetweet of the game, Afobe opened the scoring and put Wanderers ahead in the 50th minute after capitalizing on a defensive mistake, then scored again on a free-kick header in the 74th and a third time "drilling into the bottom corner" in the 77th minute. Bolton won the match 3-1, after Tranmere pulled one back in the 90th minute.

So it would appear that Owen Coyle's famous skills as a molder of young men are already seeing dividends in Afobe (or, again, it's only Tranmere). Either way, it's good to see the young Gunner have a good game and perhaps make an impression on manager, team, and fans alike.

For a picture of Afobe celebrating the first of his three goals, follow the jump.

Benik is looking good (?) in Bolton's new third kit, debuted today. I honestly do like the kit, but then I never agree with people on this kind of thing.
