I'm not a materialistic person by nature. I own things, and I will continue to own things, but in most things I tend to be a functionalist (if it works and it lasts, I like it), and I don't collect anything except music. I'm not a brand-name-fixated person (except with toothpaste and deodorant), I don't really "spoil myself" because that seems unnecessary in a life where I can pretty much get or do anything I want, and I think shopping is about as much fun as sanding one's eyeballs down to little nubs. But every once in a while, something comes along that makes me go "yep, I'm going to buy that, just because it's awesome", and it becomes part of my life.

The most recent product to do that for me is this stuff. I know, I know. You're thinking "damn. You don't like to buy stuff, you're not a brand whore, but you'll spend $17 on shaving cream?" Oh yes, my friends. I will. This stuff is awesome - it has ruined me for the $3.50 can of foamy crap at the grocery store. a dime-sized blop of this stuff is all you need (so I only buy a tube of this about once every four or five months), it doesn't have much of a smell - just a little aloe and a little mint - and it gives a fantastic shave. I've been using it for a couple years now and I can't see ever changing back to the cheap stuff.
